My Adventurous Goa Tour - From the day of Start travel...

1. 11/04/09
   Started at 9:00 AM from Airport ( 6:00 AM from Home) and reached GOA at 6:00 PM in the evening
   Kingfisher RED – Chennai to Mumbai – Excellent service. By chatting and by some services from Kingfisher crew’s worth the money J timely reach to Goa is an added advantage
   As I took my Boarding pass from Chennai, was not able to roam Mumbai for the 3 hours buffer time I had in Mumbai.
   MUMBAI AIRPORT ARRAIVAL WAS CROWDED. HEAVY TRAFFIC INSIDE, and LOT OF VEHICLES INSIDE THE TERMINALS.
   From Mumbai, I tried to get GOA’s tourism details, as I haven’t yet planned much on my two days in GOA. But, that brochure was not available in Govt Tourism department at that time. But, they had every other place details. ALSO SECURITY MISSED THE NEW TAG IN SECURITY CHECK. Should MUMBAI be more alert???. WHEN I ASKED THEY SAID IT IS ME WHO SHOULD PUT NEW TAG THERE.
   Inside airport even the ORBIT cost 50-100-150, after clearing each gate J. AS YOU can predict, I didn’t bought anything there.
   Kingfisher Class – Excellent Flight, and Excellent Service. 90-95% are non Indians in the Flight. Worth the money again.
   Reached GOA Dabolim Airport by around 4:00 PM
   Came to know most of the Known hotels( around Beach) are full from Airport, through Tourism dept , and hotel booking counters.
   Finally Booked in Nakita’s resort in calangute from Airport itself. (After my Travel in GOA, I think Calangute is the very best place to stay in Goa, as per my knowledge. ) God’s grace I was in calangute… else would have struggled a lot.
   As I had very less luggage, I opted for a Pilot (bike driver) which I came to know from Airport.
   After booking my ROOM and BIKE, Everyone in GOA pointed me to Saturday NITE Market, and SATURDAY NITE MARKET WAS MY FIRST VISIT IN GOA. (Just ate one burger alone there for that night . had a plan to take some dinner but I forgot)
   Choose Dicotheque other than Tito’s, as I am single and not a couple. (If I have chosed Titto’s , then would have struggled a lot). The rush was very huge on Saturday in Tittos … ( HINDI BECAME A MAJOR ISSUE FOR ME HERE) – Experience here should be a separate blog by itself. Great moments. MY night last there till 1:45 AM the next day.
   12/04.09
   
   Morning breakfast in Hotel itself
   Went to Anjuna, Vagator, Silolim, and all beaches and Lakes in that side… MAPUSA town ( ha ha ha .. SUNDAY ALL SHOPS ARE CLOSED)
   Almost travelled o all the Beaches and site seeing places in North GOA in bike (Except Candolim, Baga, and Aguda). I wake up at 10:00 but completed all sites within 5:30 PM .
   I found myself that I don’t have interest in disco anymore. Thank god, for no more spending on money for this.
   Again went to CALANGUTE BEACH AND HAD A BIKE RIDE IN SEA
   Cruise Ship at 7:00 PM in PANJIM :- ANOTHER WORTH LOCATION FOR MONEY ( SHOULD BE BECAUSE I WENT AS SINGLE). It cost 150 per head, and if I was the only person in my family and take my family there, then I am not sure If it is worth the Money J
   
   Thought of going to Casino at 10:00 PM, but after phone call to parents,sister for half –an –hour, and I realized I didn’t ate my dinner( I think food is the one easily forgotten in GOA). I had it in Calangute itself and didn’t went to Majestic as I had to vacate current room, and find another before 11:00 AM on 13th.
   
   13/04.09
   · Relaxed, Cancelled my plan to go to South GOA. I was much attached to NORTH GOA. I know each and every corner around Calangute, so don’t want to take any new risk by going to a new place
   · As I had some missing places still in North GOA, planned to complete North GOA this time J (Might go to GOA again in lifetime, if I get a chance)
   · Aguda forte, small and big
   · Candolim beach
   · BAGA BEACH ( it was very near next to calangute beach, but this is the last place for me to visit)
   · Came to room earlier after getting the dinner, as I had to start morning 5:00 AM the next day to catch my flight J
   
   14/04/09
   Started in GOA, and reached home by 10:15 AM.
   
   
   
   Good Plans:-
   
   Selecting GOA for Vacation.
   Travelling in Flight and reach Calangute-GOA by Saturday evening 6:00 PM was 100% worth . I would have missed Saturday Market.
   Booked Room in Calangute from Airport
   Renting a bike immediately after booking the Room, and went out
   SPENT MORE TIME on 11th evening and 12th day time which was excellent.
   Didn’t had any drink , even after compelled by lot of people.
   Overall Better plan and Better timed.......
   What Should have done better:-
   Financial Planning. Not sure how much was spent even now .
   Not stayed in a place where Credit card is accepted. All money was spent from Hand J . I used to go to ATM thrice a day minimum.
   DIDN’T TOOK MY CAMERA TO SATURDAY NITE MARKET. ONE OF THE GREAT MISTAKE OF MINE. I THOUGHT I WILL GO IN DICOTHEQUE, SO DIDN”T TOOK CAMERA FIRST.
   Get cheaper Room (Vacation time and most of the rooms are full in calangute).
   I should have planned for my food better. Only 12th Night and 13th Night had some good Food. (But everywhere I see rest & Bars, and seems costly). None of them had South Indian food.
   HINDI IS A BIG PROBLEM(SHOULD LEARN HINDI BEFORE ANY TOUR). MANY REASONS FOR THIS. GOA IS A GOOD VACATION SPOT FOR ANY ONE OTHER THAN TAMILIANS (THEY CANNOT ENJOY LIKE MUMBAIKARS).
   NOT YET SURE IF I SHOULD HAVE TRAVELLED TO SOUTH GOA AS WELL. IF ANY ONE FINDS A REASON LET ME KNOW.
   · I should have drunk atleast some MOCKTAIL, when I was in Disco (mm… I forgot again it is non alcoholic.. remembered it during a chat with one of the dancer in disco )
   · Too concerned about my safety, and money so didn’t spend much time in the sea.

My Adventurous Goa Tour - Planning and Deciding

The Planning Phase for My GOA TRIP:-

I felt myself restless and was in need of some change from my regular work and activities for a long time, and information of vacation on Monday 13th April, 2009, where my office already had a declared holiday on 14th April. This vacation (in lieu of compensation) was informed on 7/4/2009. So, I got a long weekend (11th Saturday to 14th Tuesday).
(Now other than my work I am in need to plan for a good vacation)

7/04/09
-Not sure on where to go, thought to visit my native, but I was there just 2 months back and my parents was here 1 month back… So it was not a good idea.
Other Options was found as
· Singapore – I cannot afford it for now J
· Thailand – mmm.. seems good idea, and cheaper but visa issues , language and my original passport was in native, made this option out.
· Andaman
· GOA.
At the end of Day (8th Morning 3:00 AM), with Thailand, Andaman, and GOA as option with 30% , 30%, 40% option I went to Sleep.

8/04/09
No Thailand due to the current drawbacks , and I want the cheapest option.
Andaman :- Still costlier compare to GOA, and also not good as GOA
So decided to go to GOA on 8th April , also analyzed various mode of transport and timings
At the end of the day( I mean 9th morning 3:00 AM, I slept without deciding this clearly)
Also offered more friends to accompany, but no one is able to plan such a leave shortly.

09/04/09 :-

Mmmm,.. Decided to go to GOA , via Bangalore on 10/04, i.e

Called one of my friend in Bangalore and he confirmed he can come, provided expenses .
10/4 to Bangalore via train /bus
11/04 from Bangalore to GOA via Train/bus
12th Reaching GOA
13th Evening Starting from GOA in Train or in 14th Morning Me alone in Flight to Chennai.
( More stress , lot of calls to friends , since my research on places to visit was at night after a extended long hours of work in Office, I felt more sleepless ). Atlast sleepy at 4:30 AM of 10th.
10/04/09:-

Found No train ticket is available at Morning 8:30 AM.
Because of some uncompleted work my friend needs more time for confirming his arrival.
Sleeper bus from Bangalore just had 10 seats, which reduced to 6-4-2- then 1 which is a semi sleeper and last seat and few seats in AC Volvo.
6:00 PM confirmed that my friend cannot come with me to GOA.
8:00 PM – Finally decided and booked ticket to GOA in Flight from Chennai directly, it took 1.5 hours to book because of problem in Kingfisher airline flights online booking. However, there phone booking was useful.

Then discussed with Office Collugeus on Travel and Stay.... for some time
ha ha ha .... After all this I reached my home mid night and started packing for starting early morning 6:00 from home.
