Destroying a Google Map instance

Issue with Google Map instances

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10485582/what-is-the-proper-way-to-destroy-a-map-instance

https://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/detail?id=3803

updated the issue in google.
I am also facing same issue as I am creating single page application via angular js. This issue may need more attention as going ahead many SPA application developers will face this issue. thanks to the workarounds above. For now, i will t work around this problem, by re-using the same google map instance throughout all sections of our single page web app.
